Since 2022 we have been delivering training sessions to a range of organisation including local authorities, charities and community projects.

Our training features personal testimony from migrants and focuses on localised actions, translating learning into actionable change in the workplace.

With a blend of core and modular content, the course can be tailored to meet the needs of each cohort.

We offer half-day, full-day and two-day training.

Our training is best delivered face-to-face in groups of eight to fifteen. However, we may be able to accommodate alternative arrangements upon enquiry.

John Grummitt

John Grummitt

John has lived and worked in eight countries and visited nearly 80, developing a deep passion for cultural interactions. Qualified as a teacher of English to speakers of other languages since 1997, John has taught overseas for over 20 years and now teaches online while also running cultural competency workshops.

John says
“Cultural competency isn’t an optional extra for organisations who serve people from multiple cultures. It’s an absolute essential. Cultural competency enables multicultural teams to thrive and utilise a much broader set of skills to meet the needs of those who use their services while also mitigating conflict that can harm teams and individuals.”

“It was all beneficial and useful for my role. Facilitators were very informative regarding all aspects.”
Stockton Borough Council
“Very useful training. It was well presented, and the coach was very knowledgeable, concise and clear in his presentation.”
Durham County Council
“An excellent first level introduction to the subject and thought provoking. Having someone such as Uliana was very powerful and key to the whole session.”
Sunderland City Council
“It was a really valuable session with great interactive dialogue between the different organisations represented and plenty of practical insights to take away.”
St Chad’s Community Project Gateshead
“This training delivered by Action Foundation has been excellent with very positive feedback from participants. The training is well delivered, informative and powerful. Those who have completed the training have a better understanding of asylum seekers and refugees and are better equipped to support migrant communities. The inclusion of lived experience in the training is invaluable. I can’t thank Action Foundation enough for delivering this informative training in a professional and engaging manner.”
