Good morning everyone
We wanted to update you on Action Foundation’s response to the current Coronavirus outbreak, as we know you’ll have concerns regarding how services may be affected and how we should respond.
This will be the first in a series of communications from Action Foundation to keep you informed as the situation develops in the coming days and weeks.
We want to reassure you that we are doing everything we can to take sensible and proactive precautions as directed by Health Agencies and the Government in partnerships with the CastleGate and Fusebox buildings and other tenants.
We are:
• paying close attention to hygiene in the building with an enhanced cleaning schedule in communal areas
• displaying clear signs throughout the building reminding everyone of official advice
• sharing more detailed advice with both volunteers and beneficiaries across language classes, drop-ins, as well as housing services
We are regularly monitoring developments carefully and please be assured that we will respond proportionately. This MAY include closing the Action Language classes and InterAction drop-in for a period of time in the coming days to keep everyone safe if government advice changes. We will be in touch with volunteers and beneficiaries as soon as decisions like this are made, and will also be keeping our website and social media pages regularly updated.
While official government advice hasn’t yet been issued to create an Italy-style lockdown, we understand that many people who are in higher risk categories may not want to participate in their usual volunteering duties. This is absolutely fine and we really don’t want people to feel obligated to volunteer if you feel like you’d be putting yourself at risk.
I would also ask you to read the following link from BBC News that describes symptoms and if you think that you have been infected, been with someone that may have been infected, or recently travelled to any high risk area’s PLEASE STAY AT HOME AND LET YOUR USUAL CONTACT AT ACTION FOUNDATION KNOW so that we can assess whether others that you have been in contact with might need to self-isolate.
Finally I would like to thank you in advance for your co-operation and support with this. It is important that we support one another during the coming days by doing all that we can to respond to this challenge in a measured way that does not create panic but ensures we all take sensible precautions to keep us all safe.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch with the team who will be happy to chat to you.
With much appreciation
Julian Prior
Chief Executive
