We are looking for a fixed term Volunteer Coordinator to develop systems and processes for new and existing volunteers. With a focus on our Language and Learning service you will develop processes to support our volunteers and coordinate their regular activity delivering support to our clients.
Action Foundation is an award-winning charity that supports and empowers asylum seekers, refugees and migrants in the Northeast to overcome immediate barriers, integrate with the community, and build skills for the future.
The Language and Learning service provides enhanced support towards integration, by removing barriers and preventing exclusion. It does this through employability advice, digital skills courses and non-accredited ESOL classes. Volunteer teachers and teaching assistants are at the forefront of activities related to the in-person classes for ESOL, employability workshops and digital skills courses. This role requires the incumbent to develop the capacity of individual volunteers alongside overseeing the daily and weekly activities of the service.
Action Foundation is an Equal Opportunity employer, and we welcome applications from all sectors of the community, particularly those who have lived experience of migration and language learning. We also have a strong focus on safeguarding in the organisation and a DBS (Disclosure & Barring Service) check will be part of the recruitment process.
