Good afternoon everyone
Further to my message yesterday, I wanted to update you on Action Foundation’s developing plans regarding the Coronavirus outbreak.
After careful thought and consultation we have decided to close all Action Language classes and both InterAction Drop-ins from Thursday 19 March 2020 for the foreseeable future.
This will give us time to properly communicate this in person to all beneficiaries in a way that we are confident they will understand and ensure that we are able to continue to keep in touch with them as and when we are able to re-open these projects as we currently do not have contact details for everyone that attends these services.
This timescale may need to change if Government advice changes in the next few days and we will inform you accordingly if this is the case.
We understand that our beneficiaries rely on Action Foundation to access and understand important information, so we will be making every effort to keep everyone informed.
We will continue to provide support to all our residents in our housing projects but will be doing this via telephone where-ever possible rather than in person and therefore there should be no need for any beneficiary or volunteer to come to our offices.
Staff will continue to work from the office for the time being although we are planning for the possibility of some or even all of our staff having to manage all of our operations from home.
I can assure you that we have not taken these decisions lightly, but wanted to take proactive and decisive measures to address the risk of Coronavirus spreading in our community. We have a duty of care to our volunteers, beneficiaries, staff and fellow tenants across our CastleGate and Fusebox buildings.
If you think that you have been infected, been with someone that may have been infected, or recently travelled to any high risk areas PLEASE STAY AT HOME and call 111. Do NOT visit your GP or A+E. You can get more advice via BBC News here: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-51711227
Please be assured that we will continue to regularly monitor developments carefully and will be keeping our website and social media pages updated.
If you have any questions or concerns, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
With much appreciation
Julian Prior
Chief Executive
