We’re very pleased to introduce Joanne Reidy,  Support Work Manager for Action Housing and Action Lettings. Joanne has worked in a wide variety of roles addressing homelessness and she’s looking forward to making a difference at Action Foundation.

Tell us a bit about yourself

I’m originally from Bedfordshire but I’ve lived in the North East for over 13 years. I’m a food lover, so love cooking and eating out – especially Spanish Tapas and the iconic Teesside Parmo! I enjoy spending time with my family in the South when I can and my hobbies include swimming and going to the spa. I enjoy a good crime drama, walking, reading and travelling. I love visiting new places! I have two nieces and a nephew who I absolutely love spending time with.

What’s your career background?

I started my career in housing when I moved to the North East, I’ve worked with many different client groups and had various roles as a Support Worker and Manager. I have a degree in youth studies and a professional degree in leading and managing people in health and social care, plus I’ve completed a level 3 in housing and property management and am currently in the middle of a diploma in Housing Operations Management. I’ve worked for the YMCA in Darlington and Ripon and for the homeless charity, Foundation and for the housing group, Thirteen. Currently I also work at ROC group in Newton Aycliffe as a bank worker supporting young people at weekends.

What’s your new role?

Support Work Manager

What drew you to apply for a job at Action Foundation?

The great work that Action Foundation does. I feel that Action Foundation really makes a difference and I’m very excited to work with our client group and the team.
